For the first time, The Lamron is announcing SUNY Geneseo’s upcoming fully produced theatrical season—one that brings a clear theme, thoughtful selection process, and a strong sense of community to the stage.

Recently, The Lamron had the opportunity to reconnect with the past Fall 2018-Spring 2021 Arts and Entertainment Editor and Fall 2019-Spring 2020 Copy Editor. Madelyn (Maddy) Dewey and Cal (W.C.) Hoag graduated in 2021 and 2020 respectively, and their time at The Lamron was marked by many positive memories—including the start of their relationship. 

On Thursday, Apr. 9 from 4 to 6 p.m., students joined the Residential Assistants for International Student Experience (RAISE) to embroider and decorate provided items in the Hunt Room in the MacVittie College Union.

With graduation swiftly approaching, The Lamron talked with Megan Pecenco, the Business Manager for The Lamron as she prepares to end her time at SUNY Geneseo.

As The Lamron continues to say goodbye to its graduating e-board members, this week's spotlight is now on Taylor Williams, the newspaper's dedicated and endlessly creative Public Relations (PR) Manager.

Registration season is upon us. For many students, planning class schedules for the upcoming semester can be challenging and stressful, especially for the rising sophomores and juniors who may feel they are at the bottom of the totem pole during the battle of registration. If there are any students who are looking for an educational experience that is not in a typical classroom setting to fill up their credit hours during registration, you may be interested in an internship at the Geneseo Title IX office.

On Apr. 2, SUNY Geneseo had the pleasure of welcoming Dr. Roosevelt Montás to present a lecture on “What Does the Declaration of Independence Declare?”

On Thursday, Apr. 2, paleoclimatologist and professor Jessica Conroy, Ph.D., delivered Geneseo’s 22nd Annual American Rock Salt Lecture, titled “Decoding the Tropical Pacific’s Climate History with Stable Isotopes.”

On Friday Mar. 27, 2026, the communication department hosted an alumni panel event where eight alumni came and discussed post-grad opportunities for students pursuing a degree in communication.

Last Friday, Mar. 27, was Myko “Mykonos” Frisiras’s fifth birthday (though he is around three at heart).

As this semester comes to an end, The Lamron will have to say goodbye to many of their beloved senior e-board members. One of those members is Lily Ippolito, an English adolescent education major who will be graduating in the fall after a long semester of student teaching.

This April, SUNY Geneseo’s musical theatre program is bringing a little jazz, scandal, and spectacle to campus with its production of Chicago.

Earlier this month, the State University of New York at Geneseo was blessed with the presence of a 65-foot inflatable whale, as part of a three-day science and art event meant to raise awareness on the impacts of climate change.

If you’ve been in SUNY Geneseo’s academic buildings late at night, you might have noticed something…unusual. Students have started noticing that some of the campus statues—including Victor E. Knight and the College Union Geese—aren’t quite as stationary as everyone thought.
