Invasion of Privacy: PR Manager Taylor Williams

As The Lamron continues to say goodbye to its graduating e-board members, this week's spotlight is now on Taylor Williams, the newspaper's dedicated and endlessly creative Public Relations (PR) Manager. Taylor has become an integral part of the newspaper and will leave behind a legacy of kindness and professionalism.

Taylor became a part of The Lamron last year as the PR Assistant. Taylor thought it would be a great opportunity for her as she wanted to work in digital marketing after graduation, and she was interested in working with the “great group of people” that make up  The Lamron staff.

This year, Taylor stepped into her role as PR Manager and took on a wide range of responsibilities. Some of these responsibilities include running the social media accounts, such as on Instagram and TikTok; and ensuring posts were timely, engaging, and a positive representation of The Lamron. Taylor also used her creative skills to design name tags for editors’ desks in the newspaper office and the window display of staff pictures.

In addition to her numerous responsibilities as PR Manager, and as a member of various other clubs and organizations outside of The Lamron, Taylor has also been interning for the Rochester Red Wings in their social media department since October 2025, allowing her to apply her skills in a professional sports environment. Taylor has excelled so much in this position that she will be transitioning into a full-time position upon graduation. Taylor said she is “looking forward to expanding [her] future with them and growing professionally.”

Taylor reaffirmed that her experiences with The Lamron have helped her to become better at digital marketing. They have provided her the opportunity to gain experience in her career field and have creative control over social media posts, though she wanted to include her gratitude to Grace Terhune, The Lamron’s Public Relations Assistant, who has aided her in the role throughout the year.

As Taylor reflects on her years at SUNY Geneseo, she encourages future students to get out of their comfort zone and try new things. She never thought of joining and participating in half as many things that she has, such as joining the school newspaper or even a Greek organization. However, she says that it was these experiences that made her the person that she is today.

When asked what she will miss the most about her role as PR Manager, Taylor emphasized the warmness of staff members of The Lamron, describing them as “so supportive and kind.” When Taylor first came into the position of PR Manager she was nervous, being new to both the environment and the people, but these feelings quickly faded as she was welcomed by the staff and greeted with a “positive and contagious” energy. The Lamron became a place where she felt valued, encouraged, and inspired.

As Taylor prepares to graduate and begin her next chapter, The Lamron staff wants to wish a huge thank you to Taylor for all of her incredible work, dedication, creativity, and leadership. Her impact on the newspaper has been immense both visually and interpersonally, and will be felt after she leaves campus. The staff wishes her a big congratulations and best of luck in all of her future endeavors. The Lamron is incredibly proud of her and grateful to have been part of her journey!
