On Thursday, Apr. 2, paleoclimatologist and professor Jessica Conroy, Ph.D., delivered Geneseo’s 22nd Annual American Rock Salt Lecture, titled “Decoding the Tropical Pacific’s Climate History with Stable Isotopes.”

On Friday Mar. 27, 2026, the communication department hosted an alumni panel event where eight alumni came and discussed post-grad opportunities for students pursuing a degree in communication.

Last Friday, Mar. 27, was Myko “Mykonos” Frisiras’s fifth birthday (though he is around three at heart).

As this semester comes to an end, The Lamron will have to say goodbye to many of their beloved senior e-board members. One of those members is Lily Ippolito, an English adolescent education major who will be graduating in the fall after a long semester of student teaching.

This April, SUNY Geneseo’s musical theatre program is bringing a little jazz, scandal, and spectacle to campus with its production of Chicago.

Earlier this month, the State University of New York at Geneseo was blessed with the presence of a 65-foot inflatable whale, as part of a three-day science and art event meant to raise awareness on the impacts of climate change.

If you’ve been in SUNY Geneseo’s academic buildings late at night, you might have noticed something…unusual. Students have started noticing that some of the campus statues—including Victor E. Knight and the College Union Geese—aren’t quite as stationary as everyone thought.

The normaL has received word that a new construction company, Geneseo Squirrels, is going to be taking over various construction projects across SUNY Geneseo’s campus.

On Mar. 3, Sigma Tau Delta, the English honors society on campus, partnered with Gandy Dancer, a SUNY-wide literary magazine based in Geneseo, to host a Book Bedazzling event.

For the last few weeks, there have been mysterious rumblings throughout campus centering on a giant blow-up whale destined to arrive on the college green.

For nearly seven decades, the SUNY Geneseo Chamber Singers have been an important part of the college’s musical community. Known for expressive performances and a strong tradition of excellence, the ensemble brings together students from across campus to study, rehearse, and perform choral music at a high level while building a close musical community along the way.

Dr. Gillian Paku has been working for SUNY Geneseo for 18 years and affirms that institutionally, it is a model of education that she “feels really good about.”

On Thursday, Feb. 26, at 7:30 p.m., the Geneseo Wind Ensemble (GWE) took the stage at Wadsworth Auditorium for its latest concert. The program featured a wide range of composers, from Beethoven and Shostakovich to Charles Ives to contemporary writers like Adrian Sims and Jason Nitsch. Free and open to the public, the performance highlighted not only the group’s musical range, but also the steady work that goes into maintaining a strong performing arts presence on campus.

Another club is beginning to take shape here at SUNY Geneseo and is now on its way to joining the more than 180 student clubs and organizations on campus. Between Feb. 23 and 27, representatives from the newly-established Italian American Cultural Club tabled at the MacVittie College Union (MCU). T

This past Friday, Feb. 27, local bands Clambo, Emergency 54, and Garden Club teamed up to perform a concert to benefit the Rochester Rapid Response Network (RRRN), a “Rochester-area mutual aid group formed to support immigrants facing detention and deportation,” according to the group. I saw four organizations at the event: RRRN, Genesee Valley Indivisible (GVI), ICE Out Geneseo, and Justice For Migrant Families (JFMF).

If you are a frequent flyer at the Asada Station in Mary Jemison dining hall like this member of The Lamron, then you may know Ward Parker Jr., an employee of Campus Auxiliary Services (CAS). Ward is a SUNY Geneseo alum who, after living an interesting life, came out of retirement to work in one of the college’s dining halls—though he first started at the dining hall in the MacVittie College Union, not at Mary Jemison. 

Growing up in the 2000’s was a time that the majority of college students look back on lovingly. One of the greatest collective memories of this era was the Scholastic Book Fair.
