The Lamron’s Fall Favorites

The leaves are starting to change, temperatures are staying in the mid sixties, and the hay bales have returned to Main Street. That can only mean one thing: fall season is approaching! The Lamron is getting excited to bust out our cable knit sweaters and corduroy jackets and say farewell to the blazing summer heat.
Besides feeling overjoyed about the crisp fall air, our staff is beyond excited to start baking their favorite fall treats. Whether it is pumpkin bread, cinnamon rolls, or apple cinnamon bread, being able to have the oven on without being drenched in sweat is a fantastic way to spend a rainy fall day. The thought of eating apple crisp fresh out of the oven served over vanilla ice cream is the perfect way to daydream during long classes.
It would not be in the true fall spirit if we did not mention the beloved pumpkin spice latte. We are definitely not haters when it comes to pumpkin flavored things. For the duration of fall, our E-Board members are ordering everything pumpkin at Starbucks. A special shoutout to the Starbucks pumpkin cream cheese muffin and pumpkin cream chai that are fueling those long In-Design days in the chilly Lamron office.
Fall also means football season is in full swing! Like the majority of the Geneseo student body, most of us here at The Lamron are rooting for the Bills. A Sunday night football game with the Bills up by ten, a Mama Mia’s pizza, and buffalo chicken dip fresh out of the oven is the ideal way for some of our E-Board members to close out the weekend. Even if you do not pay attention fully, the nostalgia of the announcers giving play-by-plays while you are doing your homework in the next room just screams fall.
Geneseo has got to be one of the best places to be in the fall. Taking a walk through the village to admire the falling leaves is a great way to end the night; you might even have the delight to see cats out and about. The annual scarecrow festival is back on Oct. 2, where you can see the creativity of small businesses come to life through the scarecrows they create outside their shops. You might see some of The Lamron E-Board there reporting on the event and enjoying the fall vibes.
We cannot forget that fall means spooky season is upon us. The Lamron is very excited for Halloween. While many of us have horror movie marathons year round, there is just something extra special when it is 50 degrees outside. Halloween also brings out the haunted houses. Being with a group of friends while deciding if you should be laughing or crying will always be a core memory for this E-Board.
Our Halloween costumes are already being finalized and ordered as you read this, although we will leave readers in suspense as to what iconic characters we will be dressing up as this year. Along with dressing up, pumpkins will also be carved this year. Living in a dorm room is not going to stop us from this yearly tradition. We hope to see many pumpkin painting or carving events on campus this year!
Overall, The Lamron is so excited to enter another fall season here in Geneseo. We hope to continue consuming plenty of pumpkin spice drink variants and eating glorious amounts of pumpkin bread throughout the season!
