Why dogs make for the best pet

Dogs are always smiling, which makes us smile. If you are ever stressed, take a break and find a dog to pet!
One day when I was walking my dog, Wilson, he started to pull on his leash and bark. I told him to stop, but he just kept tugging and tugging at his leash. I then realized that my mom’s friend was walking up towards me with her dog, Oliver, and that is why Wilson was barking and tugging at his leash. We kept walking towards her and Wilson jumped up and down because he was so excited to play with Oliver.
This is why l love dogs so much: they are just the happiest animals ever and love playing with people. Wilson loves to jump up on people’s legs as they come into our home legs as a way of welcoming them. He also loves to play catch with people and can play for hours. This is another reason why I love dogs.
Dogs are also just there to receive the love you give them and they will always love you no matter what. Additionally, I admire dogs for their cuteness and their love of cuddles.
Even though dogs are cute and cuddly, there are also many reasons to respect them, including the ways they help humankind, such as being therapy dogs. They are also used in search and rescue expeditions during natural disasters, because they can fit in places humans cannot. They have very good noses which are good at tracking scent. Not to mention, their noses are very cute!
I love the feelings I have after I pet my dog because I feel so much calmer and happier. According to News in Health, one reason this happens is because of a drop in your cortisol levels when you pet a dog. This drop in cortisol levels helps to make you feel happier and less anxious. Dogs also are very helpful for children with ADHD. Petting a dog helps to lower your heart rate and blood pressure, which also helps increase serotonin and dopamine to significantly improve your mood.
Paumanok Veterinary Hospital also reports that petting your dog helps them feel safer and builds trust between you and your dog, which mitigates problems like separation anxiety. Petting also helps to stop excessive barking, which can be very annoying to the people in and outside of a house. NPR notes that petting a dog also increases the levels of oxytocin in your brain and your dog’s brain; oxytocin is a hormone that makes you feel happy and relaxed, and when you are happy and relaxed you can focus more on the task on hand that you have to complete. Subsequently, therapy dogs can be very helpful in the school setting, because they help to calm down children when they are feeling overwhelmed by their school environment. When children are calm in their school environment, they are better able to focus on their schoolwork.
When dogs are regarded as a member of the household, the connection they have with their human owners is strengthened, which helps both the dog and human greatly. In interacting with each other, both experience feelings of happiness, which impact the dog and the human positively. The human calms down and makes the dog feel good about themselves. What do you think about dogs?
