Knights of Guinevere (2025- ) is in good hands with Dana Terrace, who is responsible for other hit shows such as The Owl House (2020-2023).

About a year ago, on Sept. 19, 2025, the first episode of the indie series Knights of Guinevere (2025- ) dropped on YouTube. According to IMDb, the series was produced by the well-known independent animation studio, Glitch Productions, and was created by Zach Marcus, John Bailey Owen, and most notably, Dana Terrace. Many will recognize Terrace as the creator of The Owl House (2020-2023), which her own page on IMDb confirms.

The pilot of Knight of Guinevere (2025- ) introduced us to a world known as Park Planet. A planet mostly made up of a theme park reminiscent of Walt Disney World, it should have been a place of dreams and wonder, but that is not that case. Outside of the park, the workers are suffering, trash and graffiti litter the gray landscape, and there is a sickness going around that is causing the citizens to cough up blue liquid.

The first episode introduced us to our main characters. Frankie and Andi are two mechanics who live together, though Frankie has a rather low position in the world: she collects scrap metal to be resold alongside her boss, Sparky. Meanwhile, Andi works directly for Park Planet, repairing the animatronics that the Park uses. It is Frankie who meets the third protagonist, a ruined and decaying android of the theme park’s mascot, Guinevere. While unresponsive for the whole episode, Guinevere comes alive just long enough to save her new friends from an android sent to collect her by Olivia Park.

Olivia Park is the villain of this series, or so it would seem. She is the daughter of Park Planet’s creator, Orville Park. Olivia is obsessed with “fixing” Guinevere, a process that appears to be torturing the android as Olivia tears open her stomach and pulls her by her human-like intestines with a gruesome leash. The first episode began with Oliva doing this as a young child, and now she is a woman dying of old age. One can only imagine how many years of suffering Guinevere has gone through at Olivia’s hand.

When I first saw the pilot a year ago, I cannot say that I disliked it, but nothing really jumped out at me. It was something I figured I would watch in passing, but it did not appear like it was shaping up to be a favorite any time soon.

That said, I have absolutely never been more happy to be wrong. Just recently, on Oct. 6, 2026, the second episode of Knights of Guinevere (2025- ), “Wolves Around the Corner,” dropped to YouTube, and I was absolutely blown away by every single second.

This episode had it all! There was action, intrigue, and mystery all rolled into a thrilling package and tied with a bow of humor and messages of friendship, not to mention some absolutely gorgeous animation.

While admittedly not much of a character in the first episode, this is where Guinevere truly gets to shine. She is malfunctioning terribly and unable to communicate anything but lines from the movies she used to star in. While her state makes her easy to use for humor, it is balanced wonderfully with the dark reality of her situation. Guinevere is a victim desperately fleeing her abuser and is willing to do whatever it takes if it means she never has to return to Olivia.

Unfortunately, she cannot quite articulate that. Andi and Frankie only want to keep her around in the hopes of fixing and reselling her to the Park, seeing as Andi lost her job and Frankie wants to obtain one.

Frankie is my favorite thus far. She is an idealistic dreamer who still seems to idealize the Park despite the rest of the planet blaming it for their world’s poor conditions. However, that contrasts with everything we learned about her in episode two, where it is revealed that working in scrap metal for Sparky—who is heavily implied to be physically abusive—has left her familiar with the darkest and grittiest parts of the world. It leaves you to wonder if her still believing in the magic of Park is meant to show the strength of her hope, or if it is a coping mechanism.

Meanwhile, Andi does not seem to understand the dangers of the world she has managed to avoid by working for Park Planet. It was revealed this episode that her anger issues got her fired from Park Planet. Her anger continuously gets her in trouble with Sparky this episode, all while Frankie tries to warn her that messing with him can lead to much worse consequences than just losing a job.

The second episode of Knights of Guinevere (2025- ) had me at the edge of my seat and left me eagerly awaiting the next chapter of this story, which will be coming on Jan. 22, 2027, according to an Instagram post by Glitch Productions. If you had thought Knights of Guinevere (2025- ) was not for you, I implore you to give the second episode a try. This was an actualized vision of the series in every way, and it is only going to get better from here.
