For anyone who has ever visited Hollywood Studios in Disney World, riding Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith is a staple for any trip to the park. While an entire Disney World centered around a very non-Disney property may seem out of place at first, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster earned its place in the park because of the unique experience the ride itself offered guests. On top of being the only rollercoaster in the entirety of Walt Disney World to go upside down, it reaches speeds of up to 57 miles per hour, according to a video by TPMvids.

For the duration of the ride, guests would be able to hear a snippet of a song by Aerosmith blasting through the building beneath the screaming of excited guests. According to an article on The Orlando Real, these songs could include “Sweet Emotion,” “Nine Lives,” and many more.

Unfortunately, as much fun as an Aerosmith-themed ride in Walt Disney World was, it could not last forever. According to an article on Entertainment Weekly, Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith closed permanently last month on Mar. 1, 2026. However, this does not mean the coaster itself is closing down. Instead, it is being remodeled and rebranded to fit the new rock ‘n’ rollers: The Muppets!

For anyone unaware, The Muppets actually have a rock and roll band of their very own, known as Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem. They are made up of Dr. Teeth, Floyd Pepper, Zoot, Janice, Lips, and arguably the most famous of them all, Animal. Though they are certainly not the most popular members of the Muppets, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem certainly fit the theme of Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. Furthermore, Disney has been making an effort to bring the merry band of marionettes into the limelight. They even got to star in their own Disney+ series a few years ago with The Muppets Mayhem (2023). It was largely a hit, earning an 86 percent critic score on Rotten Tomatoes along with a whopping 95 percent audience score. That seemed to be enough proof that the Electric Mayhem could connect with audiences well enough to earn their very own ride.

Even though they are very likely to be the main characters, Dr. Teeth and the Electric Mayhem will not be the only members of The Muppets to appear and the brand new Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster. According to an article on People, the first piece of concept art released promised that audiences will get to see Kermit the Frog, Scooter, and Miss Piggy during the pre-show for the attraction. This also means that it is pretty likely we will see some other famous Muppets briefly appear on the same screens for the pre-show, such as Gonzo or Fozzie Bear.

The stars of the attraction are not even limited to the Muppets! On the official Instagram account of Disney Parks, an official tracklist for the Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring The Muppets was posted. These include covers of famous rock songs covered by Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem, with most of them also featuring celebrities singing alongside them as well. For example, Kelly Clarkson has joined the band in singing a cover of “Walking on Sunshine,” Def Leppard will aid them in a cover of “Rock! Rock! (Til You Drop),” and both Jennifer Hudson and Questlove helped to cover “Love Rollercoaster.” It is truly in the spirit of The Muppets to bring in celebrity guest stars, is it not? Despite that, fellow Muppet Camilla the Chicken will help cover “Born to Be Wild,” and Dr. Teeth and The Electric Mayhem will be covering “Song 2” by themselves.
