Geneseo Restaurants Ranked

With the wide variety of restaurant options in Geneseo, it is hard to choose which is best. Luckily, The Lamron has put together a list of the most popular restaurants by category.

The Lamron conducted a poll on Twitter and asked the student body, as well as Geneseo residents, their opinions on Geneseo restaurants. Admittedly, the response was a small sample size, but from the students and residents that responded we were able to pull together some strong favorites in certain categories across the restaurants of Geneseo.

The most affordable option as deemed by the poll was the Chinese restaurant, Main Moon. Main Moon is a little Chinese restaurant located on Main Street. This place will satisfy your craving for Chinese food without breaking the bank. They also are notoriously quick to put out the food you ordered and even deliver, so not only are they affordable, but they provide decent quality food conveniently all over Geneseo.

The best gluten free option was discovered to be Bareato, since they have a wide variety of options, as well as a build-your-own-food model like Subway. This allows for customers to create the exact meal they desire.

Additionally, Bar-Eat-O won the category of best service as they were the only restaurant to achieve more than two wins in the poll. The food options at this location are plentiful and allow for a variety of options for people who are gluten free or have any other dietary restrictions. When you visit this establishment, you are greeted by friendly employees who are always willing to help. Bar-Eat-O also has an inviting atmosphere that keeps customers coming back, as well as a bar with quality drinks.

The winner for best overall food was Aunt Cookie’s Sub Shop, as their subs are consistently amazing and have long been a staple of the Geneseo dining experience. It isn’t hard to beat the dining hall’s subs, but Aunt Cookie’s knocks it out of the park. Not only do they always get your order right, but the quality of the food is outstanding, as is the variety of different subs to choose from. They also have delicious cookies on sale along with the subs that make for a sweet treat along with your meal.

The best “food under the influence” was unsurprisingly University Hots (affectionately known as U Hots), as they are open late enough to satisfy the needs of the biggest night owls in Geneseo — especially those that have been partying beforehand. Any desire for fast and greasy food will be satisfied with U-Hots. Another plus to this restaurant is their online ordering system that lets you pick whatever food you want with ease. This, coupled with the speed in which U-Hots makes your food, creates an easy and quick dining experience sure to satisfy a wide range of customers.

Long a continuous debate in Geneseo, the poll determined the best pizza in Geneseo was Mama Mia’s, as they beat out Pizza Paul’s and Giovanna’s. Mia’s may not look like much, but it has the best pizza in Geneseo. The sauce to cheese ratio is spot on. The service is consistently great. When you order a slice of pizza, it hasn’t just been sitting out in a warmer. They put it back in the oven, so it is hot. They also have a wide selection of different pizzas to choose from, as well as top-notch garlic knots and chicken wings that go well with whatever pizza is ordered.
