Will the drama continue?
On Mar. 12, season four of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives (2024- ) will be released on Hulu. Since the show's release in 2024, the series has taken off—especially with Hulu releasing four seasons in under two years.
The reality show centers around “Mormon wives” who live in Utah and the different ways that they live their lives. The show got its start on the popular social media platform, TikTok, where the wives created a group called “MomTok” and posted dancing videos. Season one of the show featured Layla Taylor, Demi Engemann, Jennifer Affleck, Mayci Neeley, Jessi Ngatikaura, Mikayla Matthews, Whitney Leavitt, and Taylor Frankie Paul. As the show has progressed, some minor casting changes were made to include Miranda McWhorter.
Recently, rumors have surfaced that former fan favorite Demi has been demoted after a tumultuous season. Demi quickly rose in popularity during season one and seemed to be one of the most likeable girls, but that quickly changed throughout season two to the present. In season three, her storyline centered on her accusing Vanderpump Villa (2024- ) star, Marciano Brunette, of sexual assault.
Marciano has vehemently denied these claims and has recently sued Demi for defamation, among other charges. Demi’s claims of sexual assault have been shut down by producers who were on the trip where the alleged assault happened. Alongside the drama, there have been some rumors that Demi has been demoted, or that she left the show.
A storyline expected to make the cut is Jessi’s tumultuous relationship with her partner, Jordan. Last season, it was revealed that Jessi had some level of an affair with Marciano, and viewers witnessed how volatile Jordan and Jessi’s relationship seemed. Throughout the season, Jordan displayed many concerning behaviors that fans were quick to label as emotional abuse. While other fans felt his reaction was justified since the behavior followed in the aftermath of the affair.
During the break, Whitney got cast to play Roxie Hart in the hit Broadway show, Chicago. Her first appearance as Roxie was Feb. 2, and she is scheduled to continue performing through Mar. 15. While many fans are excited to see her step into this role, others have expressed annoyance with “influencers” continuing to star in Broadway shows, possibly taking the chance away from someone else. Viewers are excited, however, to see how much of her theater journey will be showcased throughout season four.
Another anticipated storyline is Taylor appearing as the season 22 Bachelorette on The Bachelorette (2003- ) on ABC. The season will be released on Mar. 22, and fans are excited to see if Taylor has found love. As many are familiar, Taylor has had a rocky relationship with Dakota Mortensen that fans have witnessed through the show and social media. Towards the end of last season, it was revealed that Dakota had been engaging in a physical affair with one of her “mom’s close friends,” according to Hulu.
Alongside this, Taylor’s season is making history for the franchise. Hulu stated, “She’s the first Bachelorette picked from outside The Bachelor franchise. So, instead of meeting a lead through limo-night leftovers, you’re getting someone with a whole backstory…”
In conclusion, fans of the show are thrilled that the seasons continue to be released quickly and are looking forward to the impending drama.
