Start watching Smosh (2005- ) on YouTube
Smosh (2005- ) is a YouTub channel that has managed to grow into many successful offshoots. It is characterized by good humor and a fun-loving cast that absolutely make it worth the watch.

I find it quite difficult to watch TV shows while at college. With an overbearing courseload, work schedule, and extracurricular activities, I cannot afford to sit and start a TV show. That would require commitment and free time, of which I do not have the luxury. However, I still need a little something to watch when I am getting ready for the day, eating dinner, or winding down for bed. Right now, the thing I have been watching is Smosh (2005-).
Smosh is a channel on Youtube that has been around since 2005. It started off as a place to post skits that creators of the channel, Anthony Padilla and Ian Hecox, created. Now, the original sketch comedy channel has turned into a large production and creation team that has over four YouTube channels. Those channels include Smosh (2006), Smosh Pit (2006- ), Smosh Games (2011- ), and SmoshCast (2019- ).
Each of the channels have great content for viewers to enjoy. There are currently 15 cast members that appear in videos on a regular basis across each channel, according to IMDb. Some of my stand-out cast members are Angela Giarratana, Amanda Lehan-Canto, Arasha, Chanse McCrary, and Shayne Topp. It is a guarantee that it will be a great video if any of these people make an appearance, or better yet, if they all star in a video together.
Smosh (2005- ) brings me to giggle at every video I click on, and one of the great things about the videos is that they do not leave me on a cliff hanger. I can stop myself after watching a couple episodes to lock in on my assignments, as opposed to watching a television series, where I feel I cannot fully focus on assignments because I need to find out what happens next as soon as possible.
If you do not know where to start when flipping through the Smosh (2005- ) channels, let me guide you through the choices. The main channel, Smosh (2005-), has the series Bit City (2024- ). This is where the cast showcases their improv, characters, and bits. My favorite Bit City (2024- ) video is when Arasha pranks her fellow cast members, and we see the reveal in real time. It is hilarious, brillant, and cruel.
Smosh Pit (2006- ) is my favorite channel out of the four. This channel has classic series, including Smosh Reads Reddit Stories (2022- ), Beopardy (2020- ), Challenge Pit (2023- ), Family Feud (2022- ), and Hide and Seek. Any video from these series will likely be chaotic but great entertainment.
A few stand-out favorite videos include “Revisiting Fan Favorite Challenges | Challenge Pit, Smosh Hide and Seek in our Studio,” and “Smosh Family Feud: The Crew Tells All.” Each one of these videos makes me cry from laughing so hard. This is the best channel to watch when winding down from a long day.
Smosh Games (2011- ) is the channel where—can you guess? They play games. Anything from a classic board game to a new card game to video games. Personally, I am a fan of when the cast plays board games or card games. Those videos remind me of all the times I used to play games with my family growing up.
This channel has an overwhelming amount of different videos to pick from. One video that should definitely be added to your “Watch later” playlist is called “Competitive Bluffing | That’s Not A Hat.” The game they are playing is called That’s Not A Hat. The objective of this game is to be able to bluff which cards you have in front of you. In the video, though, the game just ends up being a game of who has the best memory. It is brilliantly executed, edited, and overall a great watch.
The fourth and final channel is SmoshCast (2019- ). This channel holds the video episodes of their podcast Smosh Mouth (2023- ). The podcast is hosted by cast members Shane and Amanda. Although I am not an avid listener of the podcast, the episodes where they challenge themselves to try not to laugh are wonderful. A great thing about them is that they are the most giggly people so having them not laugh makes the jokes ten times funnier.
Now that I have given you a starting point to Smosh (2005- ), it is time for you to start enjoying this hilarious content.
