Berube’s career nears finish line

Ritchlin wins 100th career game
The Geneseo women’s lacrosse team recorded consecutive victories for the first time since early March with a win on home turf against the Rochester Institute of Technology on April 19 and at SUNY New Paltz on April 21.

Chichester ‘10 excels at Boston Marathon
Finishes 11th overall, second American
Not only did Chichester, a Geneseo alumnus and former cross-country and track athlete, achieve a personal record. He also finished 11th overall in a time of 2 hours, 21 minutes and 10 seconds. Chichester was also the second-best American-born finisher.

He was supposed to be the tournament favorite. He was supposed to earn his fifth green jacket. He was supposed to reclaim his throne as the greatest golfer in the world. Since his disaster of a performance at the 2012 Masters tournament on April 2 – 8, however, I am convinced that Tiger Woods is done for good.

Softball dominates North Country
The Geneseo women’s softball team returned from the North Country 5-5, after splitting with SUNY Plattsburgh and sweeping SUNY Potsdam on April 13 and 14, respectively.

Men’s lacrosse earns first victory
On Wednesday April 11 the Geneseo men’s lacrosse team lost to No. 2 SUNY Cortland 15-8. But the team picked up its first win of the year on Saturday April 14, defeating SUNY Oswego 20-6.

Women’s lacrosse fights inconsistency woes
In another up-and-down week, the Geneseo women’s lacrosse team defeated SUNY Oneonta 15-9 on April 14 but fell 17-11 to Buffalo State College on April 17. Geneseo has failed to win consecutive games since the first two of the season.
