2012 primetime Emmy award predictions

Nominees for Outstanding Comedy Series "The Big Bang Theory"(CBS)

"Curb Your Enthusiasm"(HBO)

"Modern Family"(ABC)

"30 Rock"(NBC)

Justine's Picks:

Should Win: "30 Rock"

Will Win: "Modern Family"

Although “Modern Family” is a shoo-in for best comedy, “30 Rock” is still consistently hilarious – even going into its seventh and final season – and deserves some major props.

Christine's Picks:

Should Win: "The Big Bang Theory"

Will Win: "Modern Family"

While “The Big Bang Theory” brings brainy humor to the masses, the widespread appeal and previous Emmy love for “Modern Family” will garner the show a third win.

Nominees for Outstanding Leader Actor in a Comedy Series

Jim Parsons as Sheldon Cooper in "The Big Bang Theory"

Larry David as Himself in "Curb Your Enthusiasm"

Don Cheadle as Marty Kaan in "House of Lies"

Louis C.K. as Louie in "Louie"

Alec Baldwin as Jack Donaghy in "30 Rock"

Jon Cryer as Alan Harper in "Two and a Half Men"

Justine's Picks:

Should Win: Jim Parsons

Will Win: Jim Parsons

Parsons is one lucky guy. Not only is he among the quirkiest and most dedicated comedic actors, he’s also a critical darling.

Christine's Picks:

Should Win: Jim Parsons

Will Win: Louis C.K.

While Parsons’ performance absolutely deserves a third win in this category, Emmy buzz is in C.K.’s favor this time around.

Nominees for Outstanding Leader Actress in a Comedy Series

Lena Dunham as Hannah Horvath in "Girls"

Melissa McCarthy as Molly Flynn in "Mike & Molly"

Zooey Deschanel as Jess Day in "New Girl"

Edie Falco as Jackie Payton in "Nurse Jackie

Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope in "Parks and Recreation"

Tina Fey as Liz Lemon in "30 Rock"

Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Selina Meyer in "Veep"

Justine's Picks:

Should Win: Tina Fey

Will Win: Amy Poehler

Although Fey is, was and always will be the queen of scripted comedy in my eyes, Poehler’s day in the spotlight may finally be upon us.

Christine's Picks:

Should Win: Amy Poehler

Will Win: Zooey Deschanel

Over the past few years, the Emmys have unrightfully snubbed Poehler and I fear this pattern will continue. The award will likely go to new girl Deschanel for her quirky and loveable performance.

Nominees for Outstanding Drama Series

"Boardwalk Empire"(HBO)

"Breaking Bad"(AMC)

"Downton Abbey"(PBS)

"Game of Thrones"(HBO)

"Mad Men"(AMC)

Justine's Picks:

Should Win: "Mad Men"

Will Win: "Breaking Bad"

Although “Mad Men” has cleaned up at the past few Emmys and very well could again, the mega-hyped “Breaking Bad” may beat out the champ this year.

Christine's Picks:

Should Win: "Homeland"

Will Win: "Mad Men"

“Homeland” had an incredible first season, with the most Emmy nominations for a new show this year, but the domination of “Mad Men” in this category over the past four years is not likely to change.
