I have recently learned at my internship at Planned Parenthood that nearly 19 million new sexually transmitted infections occur each year. The best way to prevent STIs is to use condoms correctly and consistently. In fact, condoms are the only form of birth control that also helps reduce the risk of STIs.
Take a moment during National Condom Week, Feb. 14-21, to discuss with your partner whose responsibility it is to provide condoms. Be open and honest about your desire to protect your reproductive health.
This is one of the most important conversations you can have. Your health - and your partner's - depends on it.
