New businesses approved for former Wal-Mart location

GENESEO, N.Y. - The Geneseo Town Planning Board has given approval to the three-dimensional façade designs for the three new retail tenants which will occupy the former Wal-Mart store in the Genesee Valley Shopping Center.

According to the Board, five new move into the site: Tractor Supply, Staples, Peebles clothing store, Dollar Tree and an Applebee's. Renderings of the new stores were shown by architect Peter Morris, representing New Plan, the owner of the plaza. While Applebee's, Peebles and Staples will be new to Geneseo, Tractor Supply and Dollar Tree are moving from their present locations in the Newman plaza and the smaller plaza store adjacent to its new space, respectively.

The Town Planning Board will meet again on May 1 to review and possibly grand a final approval to the site plans.
