T-shirts land student in NYC jail

Abstract:
T-shirts calling for the firing of an unpopular professional basketball coach landed a Geneseo student in hot water over Winter Break.

Geneseo senior Ivan Cash was arrested in Manhattan on Jan. 2 and charged with vending without a license with intent to sell T-shirts critical of New York Knicks' head coach and General Manager Isiah Thomas....

I'm sorry, I can understand being charged for selling without a license, but how exactly is it illegal to sell T-shirts "with intent to be critical" of a coach?

Also, the story makes it sound like he wasn't acting as a vendor, he was selling the shirts to a vendor, who the story says did have a license. What's illegal about that?

Seriously, i agree with you Jen. Definitely a little extreme course of action. I actually find the whole situation quite humorous.
